How safe is Sulawesi today ?
We've been frequently asked How safe is Sulawesi? and we do appreciate your concern regards the communal conflict in Poso (Central Sulawesi) but in fact Sulawesi is still beautiful, cultural, friendly and peaceful as ever before. During a view year Poso was safe to be pass.

When is the best time to visit Sulawesi ?
You can visit Sulawesi all the year around, but as you've probably known that there is a Rainy Season and a Dry Season in Indonesia. The dry season is between April and end of November. The rainy season is between December and Mid April. This doesn't mean that you can't visit Sulawesi during the rainy season. The chance is higher to get rain in the rainy season. In the highland of Toraja you might get some rain showers in the late afternoon. In the worst case it will rain half a day. If you travel to the south-coastal area of the island, the chance of getting rain becomes higher. In the center of the island, it might rain all day or even a whole week in January and February

How do you arrange a Trip to Sulawesi ?
First you may check out some of our suggested-package tours as your choose or you can send us your preference package and will be able to arrange your very individual holiday.The schedule and the price of the whole trip will be sent to you by e-mail promptly. What are the Accommodations used in your Tour Packages ?
You might have a wide variety of choices, starting from 2 star (2*) hotel to 5 star (5*) hotel, we always enclosed it on the tour prices, or the best accommodation on the remote area.

What is Included in your Tour Packages ?
The rate that will be given to you includes all land comfort transportation, local boat (for some area), Accommodation during your trip, Entrance fees, Guide fees. Full board Meals but if you would prefer to have a half board (Breakfast & Dinner or Breakfast & Lunch) or without meals, it can also be arranged.

How can we reach Sulawesi Island ?
Since Makassar (or Ujung Pandang), the capital of South Sulawesi is the main gate to travel around Sulawesi Island. So, You have to get firstly to Makassar (previously Ujung Pandang) which can be reached by sea and by air. The national flight carrier Garuda Indonesia Airways (GA) serves flight carrier a day from all major cities of Indonesia, Bali, Jakarta, also Lion Air, Sriwijaya Air, etc... and Air Asia for International flight direct from Kuala Lumpur and Silk Air from Singapore. Also Cruise-Ship of PELNI such as KM. Kambuna, KM. Kerinci, KM. Kalimutu are calling regularly at Makassar Harbor.

Communication via e-mail has become common place in today's world. We always recognizes the importance of responding in a timely fashion to a Customer's question or request for information. We are committed to answering all customer service e-mails within 24 hours of receipt (excluding Saturday and Sunday, Eve and Public Holidays, it may take more then 24 hours or in 48 hour more). Do you sell Hotel Room ?
Yes, we also can serve reservations of hotels room in Makassar, Toraja, Kendari, Manado, Wakatobi, Selayar Island, Palu, Labengki Island, Gorontalo and Other place in the Island of Sulawesi with low price including 21% Tax and Service Charge!.

How long does it take from Makassar (Ujung Pandang) to Toraja Land by car ?
It's takes about 8 to 9 hours including Lunch en route stop.

What sort of vehicle do you provided in your Tour Package ?
A private comfort car with fully Air Conditioned (AC), Mpv cars, Mini van or fleets of comfort private minibus or coach.

Is there any other passengers in the same vehicle that we are using ?
No, there will be no other passengers, it is a Private Arrange. Except for some resort the transfer may use resort transport and its join with others people.

If we decide to go with your tours, then how can I pay you ?
A deposit of 50% from total Invoice is payable at the time of booking confirm and balance / rest payment may pay by cash on arrival.
The deposit payment can be made by direct wire transfer to our bank account or use a Credit Card through Paypal.
Note : All bank charges and credit card fees are the responsibility of the sender.

If by force, I have to cancel our trip, any refund from our deposit payment ?
You may can check the detail at General Terms Conditions Menu on this website.

How do I pay the balance / rest payment ?
The balance / rest of the tour price can be paid by Cash on Arrival or can be transfer before arrival.

If I intend to pay you in Rupiah, how much is your exchange rate ?
Based on our bank daily exchange rate and Paypal exchange rate and it usually changed every time on everyday.

Are taxes added to your tour prices ?
No, All our Prices is including Tax and Service charge (absolutely there is no other hidden fees charge!, No Gimmick Price, No Price Trap, No Hidden Cost and others trick.), except Tips for Guide - Driver - Boat Man - Dive Guide, Travel Insurance, Bellboy Hotel Tips, Juice Drink/Beer on local restaurant and Airport porter, or unless specified in the REMARKS.

Are there any hidden extras ?
No hidden extra charge, unless specified in the REMARKS.

Do I need to take out Travel Insurance ?
Yes, we strongly recommended you to take insurance in your place or in your country.

Do you arrange tours to other regions of Indonesia ?
Currently we do focus in Sulawesi Island.

How do I reserve my hotel room ?
First you may check it out some of our suggested hotels or us your choose, check the valid rates/prices, and book your hotel desire through booking form. Your reservation/booking requests will be inform within a few hours or 24 to 48 hours (this time may be longer during high season, weekends, festival periods or special events) (excluding Saturday and Sunday, Eve and Public Holidays).

What happens when I make a reservation ?
All reservations will be followed up within a few hours with emails to confirm your booking/reservation or suggest to you alternative solutions if the hotel has been fully booked.

What sort of acknowledgement will I receive when I book a hotel room ?
When the booking is confirmed (by email, SMS or WhatsApp if you request so),. A copy of hotel voucher will be sent directly to your email and the hotel which you made a reservation with. You will also be able to print your reservation confirmation voucher, you may be asked to present to the front desk/reception upon check in. Generally, you only present your identification to the hotel reception when you check in.

What is a CONFIRMATION VOUCHER ?
Once the room is confirmed, and after you pay the room, we will send you, by email, a confirmation voucher detailing all the reservation. We recommended you to make printout of this Voucher to be kept and presented at the time of your check-in. Make sure to have it in hand upon arrival.

How do I know when my reservation is confirmed ?
We will send you an email booking confirmation or send you a message by SMS (Short Message System), or WhatsApp directly to your mobile phone (if you request so) during the reservation process. The email confirmations will included in attach file a voucher containing the dates and details of your reservation. Note that the voucher attached to the mail must to be kept until you arrive at the hotel.

Do I need to confirm my booking with the hotel directly ?
No. The Confirmation Voucher printed from the confirmation mail is all you need.

How long does it take to get a Confirmation ?
A few hour after we receive your booking reservation through email or 24 to 48 hours (this time may be longer during high season, weekends, festival periods or special events) (excluding Saturday and Sunday, Eve and Public Holidays).

If the hotel that I selected is not available ?
You will be notified via an e-mail (within a few hours to 24 hours after placing your order) and you will not be charged. We will do our best to suggest to you an alternative hotel.

Can I specify my room preferences (preferred floor, non smoking room,...) ?
If special requests are accepted by the lodging, a section will appear on the Reservation Form to insert such requests and submit them to the hotel. The hotel staff will do their best to accommodate special requests. We cannot guarantee that your requests will be granted because they depend only on the hotel availability.

Are taxes added to your Hotel prices ?
No, All our Prices are including 21% Tax and Service Charge, No Gimmick Price, No Price Trap, No Hidden Cost and others trick.

What is your term of payment ?
Once your booking is confirm then we will send you an email booking confirmation including the Invoice. Full payment is required before check in date.
You may can transfer the payment through bank transfer or a credit card through paypal payment secure.

Travel Protection Plan :

While we leave no efforts to make your tour smooth and enjoyable, there may be unforeseen events and conditions such as illness, accident, inclement weather, flight cancellation, missed connection, or loss of baggage etc. Which is may cause interruption, delay or total cancellation of your trip putting your hard earned travel investment in jeopardy. It’s also possible that you may need medical assistance, emergency evacuation or medical transportation when you get ill or involve in an accident when you are traveling in remote areas. Highland Asia’s Tour cost does not cover any of these expenses or losses and so we strongly recommend you that you should protect yourself and your travel investment against those unfavorable conditions.
